not a jailbreak virgin anymore

hey all been lurking for a while trying to learn as much about jailbreaking and its issues before i took the plunge on my virgin 3gs. the rave reviews about the new spirit jb convinced me, so i did it yesterday and couldnt be happier. it was so easy, in fact it was anti climactic. i was expecting something to go wrong, or some sort of headache but it was so quick and easy. im a windows vista user so i just changed the compatibility mode to win 98 and it went without a hitch. so far ive added lockinfo and im using glaskart theme. cant wait to play around to modding it more. so just wanna say thanks to everyone on this forum, theres a wealth of knowledge here.

Be sure to follow the LockInfo thread on macthemes...Lots of additional information over there (where the dev posts update info). LockInfo is my number one reason for jailbreaking along with MyWi tethering. Here is my beloved LockInfo screen...

What's the point in having all that **** on your lock screen? Does nobody understand the actual point of a lock screen?

Doesn't matter how you jailbreak. If you have Cydia, you can get to programs. InfoLock I'm not familiar with, just LockInfo for me!

Sure is! Basically lockinfo (and any other cydia app) are available with any jailbreak. Jailbreaking is just the method

We are all too lazy to unlock our phone, so we have to be able to see what we need on the lockscreen.

You might also check out weathericon. It's free and is by the same dev as lockinfo. It puts live, updated weather in your status bar and on the weather app

Agreed...or at least it seems to be the culprit for me.

Question: Does backgrouder only eat battery while I'm multitasking, or is it always running and eating away at my battery? In other words, is there a way to shut it off when not using, or does it default to off when not in use?

It probably only wastes battery when you are multitasking. But I wouldn't be surprised if it did both.
