Hi, I’ve got an 11 Pro Max and I am over the moon with it. I upgraded from a X which I had since launch so

I thought I’d bite the bullet, get the new phone and the bigger size.
I couldn’t be happier and I’m very glad I made the change.

One thing that has blown me away, is the quality of films from iTunes in Dolby Vision and HDR on the phone. They look sensational and it is a great experience. The larger screen makes a big difference but it is now a real solution for consuming media on the go.

I know a lot of you won’t care, or will say I’m a sheep, or say that Android does the same, but I’m extremely happy and just wanted to share my experience.
Thought it would make a change from all the moaning 👍🏼

As far as photos and videos are concerned, the Pro is a major upgrade even from an Xs, let alone an X. So if that's an important topic for you, then you've make a good decision.
I'm still looking for good reasons to upgrade my Xs to a Pro. And since I'm not so interested in pictures, but rather in the overall usability as a phone, I'm having a hard time finding those reasons, as both phones feel the same to me in every other respect. :)

The Pro Max has insane battery life and there are so many people on Reddit that are extremely impressed by it.

I’m on 88% and took it off charger at 9am this morning - I’m clocking 5.59h SoT. Pretty amazing. I’ve even been for a run with full tracking and running app on the go.
The other question, is without buying an iTunes movie, how can I test the XDR seen as YouTube is capped at 1080p 60hz on iPhone. The trailers don’t seem to be of great quality so don’t offer the demo re screen/sound.

I guess that you could rent an iTunes movie. Some go on offer. I notice that all of the Batman films are £5 or so each at the moment to buy and All are in 4K Dolby Vision with Atmos!

I can imagine Rocketman will sound great for its Atmos live effects.

Spider Man - Into the Spider Verse looks incredible on my X so on the 11 Pro, it would look insane. Has Dolby Vision and Atmos surround too!

Hi Jason!
I'm delighted to hear about the video quality as I travel and constantly watch my iTunes films & vlogs etc on my X. I'm LOVING the Dolby Atmos on the 11 Pro and I can imagine with headphones etc it would be a really great experience - I'm sure that the rumoured AirPod Pro's with noise cancellation will be incredible on this!

always thought screen time was the true indicator of screen time not the battery app. Doesn’t seem to match up on there

I’ve got some Sony WH1000Mk3 noise cancelling headphones and it is absolutely amazing.

You could try Vimeo.
They offer 10bit 4K video with HDR on supported iPhones and iPads. Probably your best option without having to pay anything.

The Max battery really is impressive. Noticeably better than the 11 Pro and easily the best I’ve ever had in a phone.
For sure, I’m not a heavy user but I fully charged my max whEn I got it Monday and didn’t have to charge it until Thursday. That’s great even for me.

Wow that’s pretty amazing battery life on your pro max. I’m surprised because I have about 4 hours screen time today and I’m at about 50% now and took it off the charger this morning at 8am. I’m wondering if some of my settings may be eating up my battery quicker. I have hey Siri off and auto brightness on.

I always set up as a new device when I upgrade annually. I then use iCloudfor messages, contacts and some app data. I then go through all the settings manually.

I think I am about the same as that, yesterday had 4h40 SoT and I was at 48% and had taken the phone off the charger at about 8.15am.

I am not sure why there is such a disparity on this and it may be that there are some hangovers from a previous back up.
I might get around to doing a clean install at some point and see if that helps out
