iPhone 12 Pro Max Not a smooth transition between cameras while zooming

when zooming in and out, the camera jerks significantly. I’m assuming bc it’s transition between the camera, but it seems too significant to be normal.
Anyone have insight on this issue?

Also, when I hit 2.5 zoom and then touch the screen for focus, it jerks as well.
