Not able to get video signal after power saving

I have a Mac pro 3,1 w/ High Sierra and Gtx 1070 connected to a TV via HDMI.
After the screen goes out due to power saving I am not able to get the signal back on. When I first move the mouse I get a black screen for a little while, and then it goes back to the "No signal message".

The machine works perfectly and I can use VNC via tab or phone to restart it. Then the signal is as normal.
Anyone?
