Not all Apple leather cases are created equal? Apple Store vs. Amazon

So I've ordered one Apple leather case from the Apple Store (left) for £59 and another one from Amazon's official Apple store (right) for £48. To my surprise there were a few differences between these cases;

• The apple logo is much more neatly applied on the Apple Store's case
• The leather grain is much rougher on the Amazon's Apple store's case - this is something I actually prefer
• The camera lip cuts through the leather in a slightly cleaner fashion on the Apple Store's case

Has anyone else noticed a difference in the quality of the leather case? Does Apple sell their "lesser" grade leather cases thru their Amazon store albeit at a cheaper price?

Unintentionally. They get supply from all sorts of place, including sketchy 3rd parties and someone may have just not done their job properly. The Apple logo is so "blurry", definitely not like any I've seen that are real Apple ones.

No, it’s not a fake. I bought 2 Baltic Blue leather cases from Apple (one got shipped which I forgot about, one in store). One looks like your Amazon case, the other looks like the Apple store case. However, I got mine both from Apple direct.

So I think it’s just down to variances in leather.

Thanks for your advice. Although I like the texture of the Amazon's one better I think I'll return this one then.

I have two leather cases. Both are Apple products. A Baltic Blue from Apple and a Cal Poppy from Amazon. Both are in perfect condition with no blemishes. Same prices as what the OP paid.
Looking at them, I would say that the Cal Poppy is a slightly smoother leather and the embossed Apple logo is slightly deeper and more prominent than the Baltic Blue that came directly from Apple. I would put my money on the Amzion one being authentic.
Looking at the OP's though, the right hand Amazon one does look fake...either that or a poor quality one from Apple

Yup, Apple doesn't make non-magsafe leather cases for their 12 series.

That’s why is always better (except for the wallet) to buy leather case in Apple Store after choosing which one you like more

There's always going to be variation in these cases and I don't think it has anything to do where you purchase as long as it's the OEM one.

Cant be fake then. Just QC issue
