Not all my iTunes library shows up in my iPhone sync screen

Hi,

So... Much like many iPhone users, i've got far more music in iTunes than my iPhone can carry. As a result, I have to be selective, but i've noticed that not all my iTunes library shows up in the boxes to tick to select what songs to sync to my iPhone... Hopefully people know what I mean by that. And even more hopefully someone knows how to sort it out?

Open iTunes, click file, add to library, select the song you want to add.
A quick search also turned up several links on the subject.
