This is my second iPhone 3G, I have had the first gen as well, so I am no new customer to the iPhone.

My first 3G got stuck at the "booting" apple logo on the way to the Apple store for a replacement for cracks and debris under the screen. That didn't bother me all that much since I was getting another one anyways, the genius there didn't say anything about the screen.

A few days ago my new 3G got once again, stuck at the silver apple logo booting screen. I have never jailbroken it, or any of those apps... Just put music, itunes ringtones, and apps from the app store on it. Nothing 3rd party. Why is it doing this? Can I prevent it from the future? How can I fix it? Thanks!

That is a bug in either the iPhone OS or Itunes. Hopefully 2.1 will fix it. Until then the only option is to restore. I had to do that myself.
