Over the past few weeks I've noticed a drastic decrease in my MBPs battery life - down from a good ~6.5 hours to ~3 hours. I tend to use my MBP on battery most of the time, charging it up overnight. It's the high-end 13" 2010 model.

I've also noticed that it occasionally displays "Not Charging" in the taskbar. The green light on the magsafe lights up but doesn't switch to red. Disconnecting and re-connecting it will usually fix this, but not always.

I've arranged a genius bar appointment but I'm concerned that they'll need to keep the MBP for a while (I rely heavily on it for work and university). Is that likely? Has anyone here had this issue before? If so what was the solution?

Thanks in advance :)
