Possible? I have docking station and thunderbolt to LAN connector at my desk at home. I also have wifi network I'm using when taking laptop with me to the couch.

I'd like to NOT connect to WiFi when at my desk. I know I can disable wifi and re-enable, but I wonder if there is some setting that will tell wifi not to connect when LAN present..

If you don't really need to turn off Wifi, you could set the wired interface to be higher priority so that when it is connected, all traffic would go over that and when not present, it would go over Wifi. That's suitable for most people.

This is what I did with my Mac at work. I have both interfaces on but the LAN cable is higher priority. When I take it off my desk, WiFi is already connected and I can just keep on working without waiting for it to regain the signal (unless I sleep it before moving).
