[edit: after reinstalling leopard onto the computer, I figured out that the computer does, in fact, only have 1 gig of RAM...]

I've got a 2007 macbook white that I'm trying to install lion onto.
I wanted to perform a clean install, so after erasing the hard drive, I clicked "reinstall lion" while the install flash drive was in the computer.
It said that lion requires 2GB of ram. After looking at MacTracker, I found out that there's no Macbook that didn't come with 2 GB of RAM.
I think I may have screwed up when I erased the hard drive. But I'm not sure.
Any help would be awesome. Thank you.

Not true, many models around the era when yours was made were sold with 512MB or 1GB of RAM. How much does yours have?
MacTracker is telling you that they all can support 2GB, not how the MacBooks originally were sold.
