Initially when I saw it I was skeptical. And didn't think much of it. Didn't think it was THAT nice. I'm also not a watch person and haven't ever been into wearing watches. However, after looking at pictures from the Apple Watch demo in Paris, I think I'm actually considering it. It sure is a beaut.

Me too! When I first heard about it I was not interested at all but after seeing it in the keynote I was intrigued. I think it looks nice and I would probably be buying it for the fashion aspect $350 is really not that expensive for a fashion accessory/jewelry item, I think a lot of fashionistas will be buying one.

The Plan is working.

Set up nice displays.

Set up stores, get publicity photo's in the press.

Invite celebs.

Be seen with fashion people.

I have to smile at the way this way of spending money is able to alter peoples opinions about a product. :)

The Apple Watch start at $349 for the Sport edition with ION glass, aluminum body and plastic bands.
The stainless steel and the gold edition will be slightly more expensive ;)

I hope I don't have...but you know Apple; always makes you spend your money

Is it really $349 for the sport? I thought it was for the regular edition

You mean the horrible Samsung Galaxy Gear replica?

Wow...you're right. Literally just googled it and this came up.

This time it was Same-sung that was first. Damn.

.

The regular Apple Watch will come with a sapphire glass, stainless steel body and ceramic back, the apple watch sport edition doesn't have a ceramic back #

i guess, you must pay $100 or 150 dollar more ;)

Who cares if Samsung or apple is first?
Are you guys patent lawyers?

All we know is that the Sport will start at $350. All pricing beyond that is still unknown.

I still think the watch is missing a killer app, but I'm going to ask for one as a combined holiday/birthday present (it comes out after the holidays but before my birthday, so it works out) because I do love watches and I love the design of it.

John Gruber claims it'll start at $999.

I still don't understand how those relatively small additions equate to a $650 price hike over the sport. 286% more expensive? Seems unrealistic. The Edition at least has precious metals from a more scarce resource making a large price differential more viable.

Keep in mind Apple charge £100 for a 16 GB upgrade of the iPhone.

I still stand saying a 286% price increase for stainless steel, some sapphire glass, and a ceramic back is too much for what is added. Huge margins for sure but I don't see much consumer justification for such a drastic difference. Even though your point is no longer applicable to iPhones (and iPads
Soon I suspect), at least there is a need for space that the consumer needs. These additions are almost trivial for the price hike.

A rectangle is a rectangle. I mean come on, people poked fun at Apple for saying that the shape of the iPhone was something they could patent, we can't not apply the same logic to Samsung in this case.

I've been meaning to get a good watch for a while now. I guess this is as good of time as ever to get one lol. I do think that $350 is a little much though.

Where was the price of the Sport Model revealed?
