not reading cd

my mini says i inserted a blank cd, but when i put the cd in another computer the pictures on the cd show up. my mini was purchased in dec. 2005, here are the specs

What type of disc are you using?

Do you have a combo or superdrive?

it has a combo drive and the disk is a tdk cdr

Is the "other" computer a mac?
What are those pictures saved as?

when i use my neighbors pc the pictures show, but the pictures were put on the cd using an apple laptop. i tried using a cleaning cd but that didn't help.

Ok, check your settings in preference and set it to open up in iphoto/toast....give it a try. I've seen this before but a little eject and insert helped it out.
