Not receiving email notifications immediately

up until recently I was able to receive emails immediately as they came in. I sent my phone away for repair and since getting it back I am unable to receive emails unless I physically go into mail.

my 2 email accounts are listed and verified
push is turned on

what else can I do as at times I need emails as they come in due to urgency.

please help

in your email settings fetch hourly, every 30 mins, or 15 mins, take it off manual. I had the same problem.
