Not receiving shared calendar notifications consistently

I share a calendar with my personal assistant. I have enabled "Show shared calendar notifications in Notification Center" in Preferences > Alerts. However, when she adds an event to the shared calendar, I only receive a notification about 50 percent of the time.

Any ideas?
