I have been having a problem.

When I am in an area that has no service, my iPhone obviously figures this out and indicates 'No Service'

However, when I get into a new area that has a strong signal it does not seem to find it without resetting the phone.

I tried to switch to airplane mode and then back again however it always stays in the searching mode, but when I reset 5 bars.

Any ideas?

ps
iPhone 3G is what I have

This happens to me from time to time, there really isn't anything you can do. Just live with it and reset the phone

Don't reset the phone. Try resetting the network settings. Go to settings-then general-then press reset-and then reset network settings.

let me know if that works
