I had a quick look around but can't find a definite answer. When wanting to sleep my retina macbook pro I shut the lid if I'm not going to be using it for just a few hours. The problem I'm having is that the screen will go off but when I come back to it, it starts up instantly as soon as I open the lid and most of the battery has been drained.

It happened last night where I shut it before going to bed and when I woke up it was completely flat, and again today when I shut it for about 3-4 hours and about 30% of the battery has drained.

I don't have any apps open such as Nosleep or Caffeine or anything like that :S

Any help would be appreciated :)

I've had a look at what you've just posted, I disabled sharing, removed gfxstatus and checked all the other settings but still to no avail, it's just not sleeping.

I know I can manually sleep it by selecting the option before closing the lid but I'd like it to automatically go to sleep after closing the lid.
