not sure if i will get 3g in my area???

Ok because i already have ATT and am part of a family plan but i will only get the 199 and 299 price if i upgrade after aug 12 (arghhh). so i went to my local ATT store and went on the iphone and it wasnt connected to 3g, i even went to the settings to see if it was turned off which it wasnt. So now I am a bit concerned if i will get 3g in my area. I will leaving for college in downtown atlanta soon so i guess it wont be that big of a problem but just wondering.

by the way the store is about a mile from my house, but also the 3g coverage map says that it is in my area

so what is your question. If it is the thread title, test drive the phone and if your area doesn't have 3G, return it.

or even simpler yet, ask the salesdriods at the store if 3g coverage is available.
