Hi Everyone

i basically want to get myself a new iMac as i need USB3 really and dont want to buy a thunderbolt dock.

So i am going to sell my Mid 2011 iMac 21.5. I have done a few upgrade's so i have no idea what to charge and hoping someone can help. Also any advise on where to sell it as ebay costs a fortune.

Full spec

2.5 i5 Processor
12GB Ram
Radeon HD 6750M 512MB
256GB OCZ Vector SSD Bench Marks at 500MB/s read and write
running OS mavericks
also still got the original 500GB drive as a second hard drive

what do you all think i should charge for it?

Cheers

Ste

2.5 i5 Processor 500$
12GB Ram +50$
Radeon HD 6750M 512MB (included in base price)
256GB OCZ Vector SSD Bench Marks at 500MB/s read and write +100$ (people will not know how good it is)
running OS mavericks
also still got the original 500GB drive as a second hard drive (0$)
mouse+keyboard: 50$
Screen 50$ (if there is any hint of the screen being on its last leg, this figure can become negative)

Total 750$
Pulling out the SSD and reuse it in a new Mac might be a better deal.
My advise: throw it in a quad Mini
You get 650-700 for the iMac, you get a Mini 2.6 for 899, grab a Dell U2412M for 250 and 16GB ram for 150. Pop the Vector in the Mini empty HD bay. 600$ and you're set.
You'll beat many new iMac configurations, and the decline in value will not be as bad next time.

Something very much like that just sold on eBay for $950 (which does leave you a little less after all the fees), and that's without an SSD.

If you can find a buyer locally, something between $800-$900 (USD) would be fair. Like the poster above suggested, keep and reuse the SSD, it will not fetch anything significant when included with the computer.

Edit: if you're in the UK, prices might be different, but search for your laptop on eBay and select to only include your country to get an idea.
