I want to jailbreak my iPod Touch but am confused as to which model I have. I think I have a 1g, but the model number begins with MB. I might have the wrong end of the stick, but MC usually means a 1g and non MC means 2g.

I have firmware 3.1.3 so I want to use redsn0w, but i don't know whether to use 0.9.3 or 0.9.4.

Apart from this I think i'm OK, i am downloading FW 3.1.2 as it was not in my software folder, so that I can JB 3.1.3.

Forget what the model number starts with, what's the whole model number?

Download MacTracker, it has all the models listed.

If it has a flat back, it's a first-gen iPod (stop reading here if it is)
If it has a rounded back, it's either a 2G or 3G
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility. If it isn't there, then it's a 3G, otherwise, it's a 2G.

Does it have a volume rocker on the side and a speaker? If so, its a 2g or 3g.
