not wathcing video or playing video games at all, but I will do a lot of texting e.g whatsapp/wechat etc..

budget concerned.

Is iPhone 6S the most wise choice? or iPhone 7

Obviously if budget is a concern, the iPhone 6s would be the better value with a lower pricing tier. The 7+ is The more expensive option, but includes more features than the 6s Plus.

What about the SE? I'm not sure if you're a fan of 4" phones, but the SE has the same internal of the 6s and it's about $150 cheaper retail than the 6s.

6s best choice. 7 not much to offer you over 6s for what you do. Wife and one son have the 6 and very happy.

You can probably get away with the iPhone 6 if all you're going to be doing is texting.

There is no discernible difference between a 6s and 7 on iOS 10 so you will get a top notch iOS experience if you decide to go with the 6s as well.
