Note Taking software

I downloaded a Note Taking application the other day that was awesome and free. i didn't have a tablet, but i was planning on buying one to take notes in class and doing homework to submit digitally.

i my emac crashed and i'm waiting on my ibook, and i forgot the name of the app. it was free and was not inkBook. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

i want to say i found it when i found freemind, but idk if that helps.

FWIW, Word also has a really good note taking part, too. I used it when I ran out of free pages in voodoopad and I LOVE it!
