Hey all, I come here because I'm at my wit's end. I use a fairly old macbook with Snow Leopard 10.6.6 on it to take notes in most of my classes, however i've never found a single note-taking program that doesn't, well, suck.

I don't feel like I'm asking too much, I only really desire a few features

- Organization of notes into notebooks and then separate pages/lectures (I really like how programs like evernote or onenote do it, however onenote doesn't work for mac, and really, evernote kinda sucks. I'm currently using it and it's nothing but trouble for me, not to mention it doesn't fulfill my next requirement)

- Ability to insert mathematical equations into the text. I don't care if I have to type out the TeX or whatever markup myself, I can deal with it, as long as it gets integrated well into the rest of my notes, and its relatively easy to do without disrupting the rest of my notepage/book/whatever

I am incredibly frustrated with how rare this is, to the point where I'm considering installing windows on this thing (which runs on it like crap, mind you) just so I can use something that will do this. Anything.

Microsoft Word notebook view comes close, however in order to add equations I have to switch into normal view, add the equation, make it the way I want it, then switch back. This often causes the formatting of my notebook to get broken, and is thus, a bad solution.

Am I looking for a program that simply doesn't exist? Does this functionality exist in a program that I've probably used already, but I just didn't notice it? I can't imagine that I'm the only person with this problem, if anybody else has had it or knows of a program that can solve it, please let me know.
