Notes... am I missing something?

While using mail in Leopard I added a note and then went to convert it to a to do... and got this...

"Changing the style or formatting requires that this note be converted to rich text format. Rich text notes may not be editable on iPhone and other devices."

So is there a way to get the notes onto the iphone that I have missed or visa versa... or does this indicate it is definitely coming??
