Hey everyone,
I'm someone that takes copious amounts of notes through the years and recently I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to read what I was writing some time ago. However, I noticed that my notes on my new MacBook (16 - late 2019) were only up to 2016 or so. I dug up my old phone that was from the 2014 era and saw the notes there, even though I have had iCloud enabled, they are not uploading.

I am now wondering, is Apple deleting old notes? I remember taking notes since 2012 or so and now I am afraid all of those are lost forever.

I have just checked. My first note is from January 12 2012. It's still there, so I don't think your notes have been deleted. However maybe they are only saved to your phone. On the iPhone check the folders in the notes app. There should be a folder called "On my iPhone". In this one there are two notes from 2010.
