Notes: inexplicably using a LOT of CPU cycles??

I'm not 100% sure what's going on here, but I've seen this a few times now, where Notes is eating up a ton of CPU cycles and I believe that's caused my MBP battery to drain down WAY faster than it should have.

Has anyone else seen this, and how can one track down a log on what's happening with this app, to submit a full bug report?

I just tested adding a short video to new note and cpu temps and % shot straight up.so just check you haven't anything
similar in your notes app.
