Notes Issue

For me, creating a new note has become difficult under Sierra.

When I open the Notes app and click on new note at the top, I get a grey box that says New Note no additional text. The cursor moves to the right side. If I begin entering text in that right hand box it appears in both boxes, where it said no additional text and also in the right hand box.

How can I successfully create and type into a new note?

I am OK now. the right hand box information stops showing in the title box after one line.
