as a frequent notes user, i really don't like these new giant headings for "today" "yesterday" "previous 7 days" etc. it means fewer actual notes are visible without scrolling, creates a bunch of visual noise, is redundant since each note ALSO shows its last modified date.

i honestly don't need these labels at all, and at very least there should be a view option to turn them off?

I think the best you're going to get is turning this setting off in notes settings:

I understand. That came with the update and I changed mine to sort by title. That works for me.

when you say 'new'... this is not new to ventura, it's been like that for some time.

you can go under the text menu "Aa" and change that to 'body' and a new note will start with smaller titles (you have to do that each time tho). you can also resize the titles with command -

Yeah I’m aware of those, but I’m talking about a new feature in Ventura and iOS 16 that adds giant fuzzy logic date headers all over the list view. It is definitely new. As per apples Ventura release notes:

Notes grouped by date

Notes are grouped by chronological categories like Today and Yesterday for easy reference in your list and gallery views.
