All my devices are running the latest OS. Recently, I noticed that notes edited on my Mac no longer sync correctly across devices. iCloud still shows the older version, which matches what's on my iPhone. Strangely, my iPad displays a version that’s more recent than the iPhone’s but still missing the latest changes from the Mac.

This syncing issue only started after I updated to macOS 15.5. I never had problems before.

Is anyone else running into the same issue?

It's been fine for me. I use Notes fairly often so I'd definitely have noticed if it was failing.

I wonder whether you should try turning Notes sync off and back on, but you should definitely make a copy of your notes first in case it wipes the new ones and replaces them with the old ones.

Definitely a configuration error. Likely you have some account other than iCloud set up on one (or more) device.

Take @Nermal ’s copy/backup advice seriously before setting off on resolving this issue… your data is likely spread across multiple services and correcting it will likely involve leaving some behind.

What @Nermal said.

Working for me but Mac has always been the problem child re syncing with iCloud. Not syncing, slow syncs. See this mostly in Notes, Files. Sometimes Reminders. But toggling off/on and doing a reboot usually unjams things.

i*OS devices never seem to have these issues.

Thank you all.

Eventually I was able to resolve the issue by following these steps. So far the sync seems to working without hiccups for 2 days.

  1. Make sure my notes from other iOS devices are all backed up properly to iCloud
  2. Log out from iCloud from Mac
  3. Delete these folders /Users/<myuser>/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes.*
  4. Log in iCloud on Mac, the notes are synced. New changes are synced to other devices instantly.
