I'm wondering how these apps play off each other. I thought notes was for simply short bits of unformatted text, but it could be synced with my phones easily through iCloud. TextEdit had more formatting options but was a desktop app.

Now notes has formatting options and supports images. TextEdit is now on my phone through iCloud. It seems both these apps are doing the same thing now. I wonder if they will merge them soon?
