I was happy with my upgrade to the iPhone 11 Pro Max, until I realized... absolutely nothing sticks to it. Leaving the question of why Apple switched from a polished glass exterior (very grippy) to this terrible new pebble surface, I ask, has anyone found anything that will stick to the surface?

Nearly all mounts, such as quad lock adapter, magnetic mounts, etc, use 3M VHB type adhesive, and none of it will stick to my phone. To be clear, I'm not interested in alternatives, or a discussion of the merits of this new textured glass material, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting any type of adhesive to stick directly to their phone.

Buy a case then apply all this crap to it. I love the frosted glass
I just want to know if anyone has had luck getting adhesive to stick directly to the surface of the phone. I'm not interested in who does or doesnt like the glass.

That's the point. They did it so that things wouldn't stick to it. So I don't think it's going to be easy to find something that does.

Exactly, and these products no longer stick:

There are a million of these sorts of products, and many of them NEED to be stuck directly to the phone, in order for wireless charging to work.

So, anybody?

Out of the box? No. But you can apply gorilla glue and then stick it. While I didn’t try this, I know it will work (studied properties of engineering when I was a student) between the glass of the 11 and the metal plate. You can then use wireless charging without issue.

Now if you don’t want a permanent solution or look stupid having gorilla glued something to your phone, use a thin case. Wireless charging will work and the **** will stick easily.

I tried Gorilla Super Glue Gel. It hardened ok, and seemed to be stuck pretty well. After about 10 minutes, it popped right off, and left a residue. After a little scraping the residue was COMPLETELY gone from the phone and it looked like I never tried. I tried a variety of 2 part epoxies and other adhesives with no luck.

I'm actually a materials engineer myself. The issue is, the surface has no tooth, so there's nothing for the glue to bond to. I could either polish the glass, or rough it up a bunch, and I'm sure either approach would work fine. But a "micro textured glass surface" or whatever the F this thing is, will not bond with anything I've tried. I ask because there are so many products that rely on adhesives, and I have yet to see a company offering any sort of solution.
