I have a question about notifications.

Is it possible to have an app NOT show up on the lock screen (so it doesn't wake my device and drain battery) but still have it show up in the notification center WHILE the device is still locked when I swipe down?

It seems as though if I have everything checked for a notification EXCEPT "Show on lock screen," I will NOT see those notifications in notification center without unlocking the device. Is this by design?

My goal was to have my high traffic e-mail account alert me to a new message with just a sound and vibration..and then if I wanted to quickly check what it was, I could then wake the device...access notification center while it's LOCKED...and view the alert I just received...then I could decide if I want to unlock my phone and take care of that alert.

Can someone tell me if this is possible? I'm confused.

You can disable any app from showing on the lock screen

Settings> Notifications> select the app you want to edit > then switch off show on lock screen!

Yup, it's like that by design, unfortunately.
