Notification dot not going away

Since updating to 6.0.1 the red notification dot at the top of my screen no longer goes away if I view the notifications, the only way I can get it to go is to manually delete each notification. Is this just the way 6.0.1 works or is there a setting that I can change somewhere to restore it to the old behaviour, ie as soon as I view the notification the dot disappears?

I believe you've always had to clear the notifications to make the dot go away. However, you can clear all notifications with one hard press on the screen. You don't have to delete them one at a time.

If I swipe down and view the most recent unread notifications, the red dot goes away until I get another new notification. I don't need to actually clear any notifications at all, just view them.

I have the same issue. The red dot is almost always there. It really loses any value when it’s always on as you start to ignore it.

Even on iPhone, notification don't go away just by viewing them. Some interaction is always required. Just use the hard press to clear all Watch notifications.

As Griffy says mine (up until the last update) has always cleared as soon as I've viewed the notification. I'll try the hard press though until I can find how to get it back to the old way.

What software version are you running?

The actual notifications don't go away unless you clear them, but the red dot on the watch that advised you that you had new notifications did.
