Notification for burner app on Apple Watch S3

Anyone know why I would be getting a blank app icon (placeholder square) when I get burner notifications on my new Apple watch series 3. Never had an issue with my old S2. I've turned on and off show notifications from this app hoping it would reload the icon from the phone side but no dice.

Appears to be a widespread issue. Twitter and Snapchat also have the same icon problem.
