Is there a way to receive a notification on my iPhone when my Apple Watch S0 running watchOS 4.3.2 or my wife's S1 running watchOS 6.2.9 is fully charged? I am aware that Apple introduced this feature in watchOS 7 but alas, I cannot update neither my S0 nor my wife's S1 any further. I've tried BatteryPhone but it didn't notify me this morning, and RemoteBattery is pestered with ads (even video ads that I cannot interrupt) and requires a yearly subscription to enable certain features, which I adamantly refuse to sign up for.

Are there any other alternatives? I wouldn't mind paying for an app but as a matter of principle am never going to sign up for a software subscription.

Nevermind. RemoteBattery seems to be working just fine even without the software subscription. I have just been notified on my iPhone that my watch is now 100% charged.

That was a bit too early. This morning, the watch sat happily at 100% without RemoteBattery notifying me. When I launched the app it didn't show the watch's battery percentage as it couldn't connect to it. Only when I actively launched the application on the watch did it suddenly update and give me the notification. I've tried the complication bit it doesn't seem to be working without subscribing.

Long story short I still haven't found a reliable way. Any other ideas?
