Up until recently, when I would get a notifications (let's say a text message), I would raise my wrist, and be able to read the message. Now, I only see a very large icon. I actually have to tap the screen to see the message. This happens for all notifications. How do I fix this? It's annoying. I haven't changed anything on the watch. Running the latest official software.

On your iPhone:
  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  2. Tap 'Notifications'
  3. Turn 'Notification privacy' to off
(When 'Notification privacy' is on, notification details will only appear when you tap an alert).

Boom. That did the trick. It's possible that got switched unintentionally but I don't remember ever changing that. Weird. Thanks!
