This seems strange to me...

I just switched to the iPhone 4 from my iPhone 3G yesterday and am noticing an issue with push notifications. My favorite push app is "Push Gmail", where it will pop up a box each time I get a new Gmail message. Well, now that only works when I turn the phone on (i.e. push the home button to turn the screen lock page on). This is also happening with my CNBC and AP apps.

Does anyone have an idea why I have to have the phone on now for these to work? (I'm connected to the 3G network and not on wifi as usual).

Thanks for your insights!
