Notifications of iPhone

Last week on my birthday i got iPhone 4S in my gifts . I am totally new to this. Here all the notifications are enable on it. I am receiving all the notifications from Facebook, Yahoo and Gmail etc, and i don't need to receive all these notifications except some of them. I want to disable some unwanted notifications. How to disable these only unwanted notifications ?
