I've been looking for an app that would give me notifications via the Notification Center of whether I'm online or not. So notifications that I have come online, and notifications if the connection drops.

I can't find anything so far, and I don't have the skills to code this in Applescript. Anyone know of something that could do this job. Essentially an app that pings, and reports back.

I'm on Mavericks 10.9.4

Edit: I have an app called Autoping, which does the pinging part well, and sits in the menubar. But I wanted notifications specifically.

Check out GeekTool... Maybe there is an script that could help you. Probably wont get it in the notifications but still it is an great tool that has endless possibilities.

You don't think it's a bit old? The last release appeared optimised for Snow Leopard.
