Just interested to know what people are using, I noticed there really isn't a thread talking about preference, wondering how popular the new iOS 16 "Stack" mode has been or if people switch back to the old "List" mode.

The Stack notification mode has been slightly updated in 16.2 so that old notifications will also appear when you pull up on the stack. I do like the stack notifications over the old way.

Count me in on Count.

Really desire an uncluttered screen, most notifications are noise to me, ditto lock screen widgets. Basically only want to know if a small subset of people called or texted, so hiding things via Count and Notification Summary reports. Bubbles on Phone and Messages (and Mail) give me all the hints I need, so OK with hiding the rest via Count.

I hope iOS 16.2 fixes the absolute horrendous hidden notifications. What a stupid idea that was. Every time I swiped up there were tens of important “notifications”.

I see 16.2 has not fixed the absolutely crap notification system.

Still swiping up to find a ton of notifications I never knew existed.

Yes, I have the same problem. This is why I was wondering what people were using. I get notification fatigue is a thing, especially if you have an Apple Watch, but I find to miss so much, especially in the morning!

List. I like the ‘old school’ way.

My iOS (&watchOS) devices do not spam me so I don’t need to have my notifications managed by a Scheduled Sunmary or hidden under a counter on the locksreen.

I’ve turned off spam notifications (like social networks, news, games, shopping apps, apple watch fitness reminders crap and so on).

I get notifications only from phone & FaceTime, messaging apps (including Mail), banking apps, gps navigation apps, Fantastical, university app, server & router app and FindMy.

Thats it. The other 80% of the apps are silenced. And I dont get people who complain about spammy notifications from apps and dont do the same - just turn them off guys. Its awesome after lol
