After tons of detective work, My family and I have discovered that notifications are slowing the network in our house. I even turned notifications off for most applications (all but 4) with no difference.

Any reason as to why this may happen? Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you saying that you think the notifications on your phone are slowing your wifi network?

If so... what led you to that conclusion?

Yes. It sounds crazy but I tried many different things: turning off different devices and narrowed it to the iPhone (the only one in the house) and then further tried different things on the phone: location and notifications. When I left wifi on but turned off notifications the network was running faster. I have no idea what else it may account for but that seems to be my conclusion.
