Wouldn't it be great if besides weather/stock as widgets, Apple also added a "settings" widget just like sbsettings to quickly turn on or off services for advanced users? :)

I'll suggest it through the feedback site.

I got the impression that developers will be able to create their own Widgets.

That would be great, where did you get that impression though?
There are two Apple created widgets on the iPhone (stocks and weather). None on the iPad.

It wouldn't make sense for Apple to be the only supplier and then supply no widgets.

I am guessing that developers will be getting the tools to build their own widgets.
