Notifications won’t get dismissed

I have an Apple Watch gen 4 and whenever I get a text and view it on the phone it will still show up as unread on the watch.
Also if I read a text on the watch it won’t dismiss it on the phone.
I’ve rebooted both and even set the watch back to factory settings.

Still the notifications won’t dismiss.

Any ideas?

I’m not sure if that is supposed to be a feature or not. It should be, and if it is, it doesn’t work.

It takes quite a while for texts to sync, if at all. I’m wondering if it’s a Apple / Android thing. Messages seem to work better from the watch for me if it’s iOS to iOS via iMessage and not an SMS to an Android user.

I have every message set on mirroring the phone but it simply doesn't mirror the phone at all.
Not in the least.
