Just wanted some insights on this. Do you think the 6 week delay between the Keynote and the pre-order live date of the "X" will lead to enough supply to limit wait times to two weeks or under or do you see people ordering on the 27th at 12:00 AM and still getting "expected to ship" dates into December or even January?

I plan on ordering this, but if I'm up at 12:00 AM and get a message of "expected to ship" and it has December or January date after it, I think I might skip this one. After all, a January delivery date would mean basically 8 months with the phone before the next one "drops"......

Thoughts?

we can hope they have the supply to meet the demand. i mean i'm coming from an iP6 so i'm on year 3. i really hoped it would be this friday to pre-order but i didn't have my hopes up. I think with the iP8 not being much of an upgrade, it makes waiting a little better being i'm not missing anything. just IMO.

I'll be up the minute it goes on sale. I still expect it to be crazy. I figure there's a 50/50 chance I'll get it within 6 weeks. Sounds like there's some hope since I'll go for the 256GB model and most people seem to think that's obscenely overpriced. :p

I have a launch day 6 Plus so I'm going on three years. Getting kind of impatient. If I have to wait too long then I'll probably just go with the 8 Plus.

If the X is very hard to come buy I may end up getting a Huawei Mate 10 Pro which for some reason really appeals to me as well to tide me over until the next iPhone arrives.

It's not the Apple way to wait until they have enough supply for everyone to ship. My guess is it's delayed because if they launched with the 8, the supply would be so low that people would be furious and only a random few thousand would go out. Expect the supply on Nov. 3 to be similar to what we see with every iPhone release, times slipping to days, weeks, months as the pre-order day progresses.
