After my update to 16, my flashlight is disabled. It’s grayed out on lockscreen and control center. I got it to come back with a restart, but then it disabled again after checking notification in lockscreen.

Is this a known issue?

PS - I really don’t like how you have to pull down lockscreen, then swipe up to see notifications. That really blows.

I don't have it on my lockscreen at all any more. Am I missing something obvious? It's in the control center and works fine.

Isn't California having a heat wave right now? Your phone probably just overheated during the update, which dims the brightness and disables the flashlight.
My office is nearly an icebox. Yeah, if I step outside, my shoes would melt to the pavement. But I’ve stayed indoors. With my fan on. And my air purifier which also blows air. And with the A/C freezing my nips off. 😂

But I wasn’t aware of how iPhone handles heat and disables some things. It was probably overheating while applying the iOS update. Thanks!

Almost certainly temperature related- my 13 Pro got so hot during the update, it stopped charging and I pulled it from the case to cool down. In four days it will be replaced with a 14 Pro, so the update was needed only to smooth the transfer process.
