I like that apple has given us more options but personally now I'm even more confused to which config I should buy?

Analyze what it is that you do with your machine, and where. There is generally a compromise between power and mobility. You have to figure out what your use case is. That will help you selecting what should be appropriate machine. Now, if you want flexibility as well, that will confuse the heck out of you. :)
