Now I understand the love for the AEKII.

Today I was digging through my pile of tech stuff and cleaning out my room when I came across and ADB to USB adapter. It was brand new in the box since I had picked it up at a Going-Out-Of-Business sale a couple months ago. Paid $7, and it has dual ADB ports. I never tried it since my iMate was dead I thought none of them would work. Well, I pulled out my AEKII (with the cream Alps switches) and sure enough El Capitan detected the keyboard right away. This keyboard is amazing and a dream to type on. Come spring, I'm going to clean and retrobrite the keyboard, but damn does this thing work like a dream! Looks like my compacts are just going to have to share it.

I use a Model M day-to-day on my Mac Pro, but have a bunch of AEKIIs in use-including one hooked up to an iMate with a Powermac G4 that's used frequently.

They truly are special, although I do have to admit a small preference for the Model M.
