Since Dell bought Alienware they lost a lot of their edge and design. I hope Orgin captures that again with the ex-Alenware guys.

and, the base model EON 17 (not -S version) has a intel i7 950 in it (OMGWTF)
 
Laptops with desktop CPUs aren't really a new thing, they just aren't very popular. this is a 12lb beast which explains it, it's not very portable anymore.
 
This is the dumbest idea ever. If I really needed a machine with those specs, I'd buy me a desktop. Besides, this damned thing weighs 12lbs which makes it as heavy and has only an hour of battery life which I think is rather generous considering they SLI this thing.

Crap laptop and I don't think its ever going to take off.

There's a small market for this. It's niche, but it still serves a purpose.

Much like the Mac Pro. :)

i know, but it's a XEON on a laptop. even Falcon Northwest won't go that far :O
