macOS NSOutlineView isItemExpandable?

How can I make an NSOutlineVIew, expandable by exactly 1?

I have an array of items, with multiple children, and I would like the children to be set to isItemExpandable (NO)

is this harder than I think it should be, to implement.

Try the expandItem:expandChildren: method.
