Anyone else having this? I'm not really doing anything crazy on it, a word editor and chrome open with maybe 2 tabs and some programming puzzles. It literally gets so hot that I feel it for minutes afterwards. Battery is only lasting about 3 hours. Should I take it in, or should I try something else first?

Next time you "find it hot", open it up and launch Activity Monitor.
Then go to the CPU pane and see if one or more processes is eating up the CPU usage.

If so, let us know which ones are...

Once you open Activity Monitor, be sure to click View-->All Processes (for a very long time I did not realize that all processes were not shown by default and this gave me quite a frustration!)
