This isn't specifically an Apple TV question, but I thought folks here might have helpful insight.

I have some DVDs that I made using Toast Titanium. They played on my old Westinghouse 1080p 42" TV, using my regular Panasonic DVD player or my PS3. I switched to a 46" Sony Bravia XBR, and can't get the DVDs to play.

I think the origin of the problem is that the DVDs are fan-made ones based on European PAL television broadcasts. I think Sony made my U.S. set incompatible in order to tamp down graymarket sales between different world regions.

I output the file to iTunes, and that plays on my TV, but it doesn't look as good (probably due to me picking the wrong settings in Toast) and doesn't have the menus and some "bonus features" the DVD had.

I'd like to get the max quality and full features, doesn't matter to me whether it's via ATV or DVD ... any tips?
